Happy Bday And Farewell To Isidingo Publicist, Ngcebo Mdima

Last night I headed off to Joburg CBD for now former Isidingo publicist/uber fabulous socialite Ngcebo Mdima's birthday and farewell party. The party started off on a dull note with the bar not open till almost 22h00 whilst the party was supposed to start at 19h30.

Ngcebo is a nice guy and when he arrived he made sure that we all had fun but the party was badly organised. Skye Gardens in Braamfontein was the location and some of us had left our jackets at home and were freezing in that rooftop. To make matters worse we sat there for 3 hours with no booze or hors d'oeuvre. The excuse for the bar not being open was that they had no glasses. Seriously!!! how do you host a party and not have glasses? I have to note that this is the first party I have gone to this year where I had to pay for my own drinks. There were free drinks but I don't drink pink drinks. Huh.. I digress...

The gorgeous Kgomotso Christopher, who looked absolutely radiant in a coral dress, had to leave before the party as all that waiting in the cold was just ridiculous. Sadly she was only one of 6 celebs who showed up for the event.

Kagiso Rakosa

Eventually the Bday boy arrived and the party somewhat got interesting. Kagiso Rakosa (Sharon in Generations) arrived with her posse and was bubbly as usual. Catch my interview with her on Zoopy where I ask her about her "unemployment" since being fired from Gen. She was very candid and seemed to have a good time through-out the night. What I love about Kagiso is that she is just always herself. She is a regular girl at heart who just happens to be on SA's biggest show. That's what you get when you are in her presence, she is a kasi girl, nothing like that annoying Samekelo.

Bday boy with Malehlokwa

Also in attendance was my boy, Muzi Clive. Always good to see him and catch up. He rolled in with Thabo Molamu (Nicholus - Generations) and some other guy who is famous but I don't know his name not that it matters. I think he was on Rhythm City and some tv ads.

Motlatsi and friend

Motlatsi Mafatshe (Sechaba - Isidingo) performed his latest single. Malehlokwa rocked the party - cool girl!!

Anyway the party ended on a fabulous note dhaaaaarling!! Yes Joburg's kittens were there in droves. I do have to say though, I knew that the will be a lot of gay guys at this party so I expected some pretentiousness but I was pleasantly surprised at how cool everyone was. I think Joburg gay scene is evolving. These guys are finally realising that the bitchiness and acting like your shit don't stick is just so 2008. The boys were well behaved and pleasant the entire night.
Mongezi Chirwa with Kagiso

All in all, the party was a nice shindig for a Friday. Big up to Mongezi for making sure we were taken care of. Beautiful performance by my new favourite girl, Nkiyase, who gave me her CD and what an awesome talented musician she is (more about her and her awesome CD on my next post).  Best performance of the night.

Met one of my Facebook friends, Hlengiwe (left) and her friend. Lovely girl !!

Happy Bday and All the best to Ngcebo in all his future endeavours. Conquer the world brotha!!! xoxo

Catch all the action and interviews with the celebs from the party on Zoopy!!
