Beyonce Accused Of Stealing, AGAIN!!!

Beyonce just released yet another video from her current albumn, 4. Unfortunately the release has been marred by some controversy. A Belgian choreographer, Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker, alledges that Beyoncé's new video, "Countdown" is "plagiarism."  She slants the superstar on her blog and blatantly states that,
"This is stealing."
Anne points out that there are two separate dances from which she believes Beyoncé and her team copied moves, and adds,
"It's a bit rude, I must say."
Watch how some of the key moments from Beyoncé's clip are spliced together with Anne's work in this video below:

This is not the first time Beyoncé has been accused of ripping off a concept:

  • The video for "Run The World" included images and scenarios very close to the work of South African photographer Pieter Hugo. I addressed that HERE
  • Still on her massive stealing controversy, she was slanted for stealing yet another choreography and poses from a YouTube drag queen named Leyomi Mizrahi

  • Her performance at the Billboard awards was almost identical to a performance by Italian artist Lorella Cuccarini here:

  • Then there is that other infamous Single Ladies video 'inspired' from Bob Fosse.

Beyoncé, not usually one to respond to such allegations did surprinsingly respond to the claims of the foreign counterpart, noting that she draws inspiration from many sources and not only the Keersmaeker visuals from the 80′s piece.

She told MTV;
“Clearly, the ballet ‘Rosas danst Rosas’ was one of many references for my video ‘Countdown.’ It was one of the inspirations used to bring the feel and look of the song to life.
I was also paying tribute to the film, ‘Funny Face’ with the legendary Audrey Hepburn. My biggest inspirations were the ’60s, the ’70s, Brigitte Bardot, Andy Warhol, Twiggy and Diana Ross. I’ve always been fascinated by the way contemporary art uses different elements and references to produce something unique.”

I have bantered on about how talented Beyonce is and the fact that she need not steal from other people to shine. Her talent alone should make her the icon she wants to be. But clearly Miss Knowles is determined to prove everybody right that she has no unique talent and relies on ripping other people's work off.

Come on now Bey!!
