Nando's At It Again With A New Ad


Trust the folks at Nando's to bring festive cheer with a bit of comic relief as our nation is embroiled in political turmoil. While the government tries to silence it's citizens with is Secrecy Bill, the Nandos term take a swipe African dictators with a cleverly contrived ad campaign simply called "Last Dictator Standing, Even Dictators Need Company"
This time around the food chain's hunger for parodying current events to the world of dictators. The ad features a man who bears a striking resemblance to long-standing Zimbabwean president, Robert Mugabe, sitting at a dinner table alone reminiscing about the good times he had with his “friends” - Uganda’s mass murderer Idi Amin Dada, Libya’s Muammar Gaddafi, Iraq’s Saddam Hussein and South Africa’s P.W Botha who are all deceased dictators.


In the commercial’s closing seconds, a narrator says, 
“This time of year, no one should eat alone, so get a Nando’s six-pack meal for six.”
I cracked up when I saw the ad. Lols came flooding on social media when I searched for the topic on Twitter. 

What better way to kick off the holidays than with a bit of laughter? #classic

In the last few months Nandos has capitalised on  current events in South Africa's political sphere, it has poked fun at Julius Malema’s suspension from the ANC with this; 


They used the power of pun with this tagline to draw attention to their menu whilst parodying Julius Malema's fall from grace. #Priceless

Their answer to the recent Protection of State Information Bill or as it's now commonly know, Secrecy Bill was;
