Bonang Will Be The Sole Presenter Of LIVE

Yep, word is that 'Your Girl B' will be taking the reigns as SABC 1's music show LIVE's sole presenter when the show gets revamped next year. All I can say is; It's about damn time!

The writing has been on the wall for quiet some time now that LIVE was a Bonang show. The other presenters were just 'supporting acts' for her to shine. Now the Queen B is about to take her rightful place on centre stage.

I commented on this article about Minnie not really fitting in and the producers not doing much to even help her and a week or so later she quit. This came after reports earlier this year that Sizwe will also be leaving the show. 

A lot of blogs and entertainment sites suggested that Dj Nave and Spectacular will be the new co-hosts for the show but I doubted it and did not even bother to mention it on my blog. After having observed the show, it was evident to me that while Bonang is still there, no other presenter will be able to match her presence. 

Other suggestion was that Lawrence Maleka should join her but with that too I had my reservations. Maleka would have come with a lot of baggage as I stated here.

The show was made for Bonang. It was evident from her first six months on it. She encapsulates the essence of LIVE. She is LIVE!!

Unfortunately the show hasn't really done well over the year in terms of ratings. At this moment it doesn't even make the Top 10 shows in SA list.

I was going to share this with you guys tomorrow but I am way too excited about the news. Bonang is the epitome of glam, sophistication, swag and an all South African girl. She is an inspiration and someone I personally see as a pioneer in changing the face of our industry. 

She is arguable the first black celebrity in this country to become a viable brand that transcended race and cultural differences. Everybody loves Bonang even those who do not like her can not avoid conceding that she is a star in every sense of the word.
