Critics Reward Viola For "The Help" Performance

The race is on for the Oscars. I have yet to see The Help but I hear it is brilliant. I am fan of Viola Davis' work after seeing her on Doubt. She and Meryl share one of my favourite movie scenes of all time as I stated in here.

This week Viola Davis and George Clooney were named Best Actor and Actress at Thursday's Critics' Choice Awards for their roles in The Descendants and The Help, respectively, while the old Hollywood-based silent movie The Artist took home four trophies, including Best Picture and Best Director, for its French filmmaker Michel Hazanavicius.

The Help also won Best Ensemble Cast, and Davis's costar Octavia Spencer claimed Best Supporting Actress.

Now we are just waiting for the Golden Globes and then the big one, The Academy Award. It would be great if Viola won but she would likely be going up against Meryl Streep. I am a huge fan of Meryl's so I will be rooting for her to walk away with the Oscar.

Congrats to Viola. It's nice to see true talent be rewarded.
