Guys Take On Beyonce

Guys like pretending that they do not listen to Beyonce songs or even know the lyrics but we all know that that is some macho nonsense. A lot of guys will even sing along to Bey's songs if they thought no-one was watching.

Every time Beyonce drops a hit single, which most of the time the lyrics diss guys or she moans about a man who did her wrong, there will be a brotha out there who will put out a "hit back" track.

This is not a new trend. We saw it with TLC's "No Scrubs" when Sporty Thieves decided to hit back at the male bashing track with their own rebuttal track "No Pegions".

Since Bey's first albumn there have been some popular "hit back" tracks that were spun from her hit singles. The first after Bey's "Irreplaceable".

A guy hit back with;

To the right, to the right
(Huh, get, get to steppin`)
To the right, to the right
(Woahh ayy yeah)
To the right, to the right
That's where I'm goin' in the middle of the night
Now in the closet, that's your stuff
But trick, I bought it, so bitch don't touch (don't touch)
You talk a lotta bullshit, alright
But while you walk 'n talk I'mma gettin' high now
It's my name that's on your last
You bald-headed rat tryna get ridda that
Back up outta my face fraud
I'm really tryna not talk to you

Talkin' bout I'm neva gonna find a girl like you
You must got me fucked up
You must not know 'bout me
You must think I'm playing
'Cause I can have another you in an hour
Matter of fact, she's upstairs in tha shower, baby

You must now know 'bout me
You must think I'm playing
I can find another you on the corner
So don't you ever for a second get to thinkin' you're irreplaceable ...

Beyonce then release I Am Sacha Fierce which spun few singles that were massive. None more so than "If I Were A Boy".

Again few guys hit back at the track with their own version of "If I Were A Boy" story. The most famous is R. Kelly's track but for me the most interesting one has to be Lee Carr's.

Lee Carr has the voice and takes on Beyonce not just with the lyrics but with the voice too. The track actually songs so good that I could have easily been in Bey's albumn as a duet version of the famous track .

If you know Beyonce's track, here are the lyrics of the "unofficial duet" with Lee Carr:

If I were a boy
Even just for a day
I'd roll oudda bed in the mornin'
And throw on what I wanted then go
Drink beer with the guys
And chase after girls
I'd kick it with who I wanted
And I'd never get confronted for it.
Cause they'd stick up for me.

If I were a boy
I think I could understand
How it feels to love a girl
I swear I'd be a better man.
I'd listen to her
Cause I know how it hurts
When you lose the one you wanted
Cause he's taken you for granted
And everything you had got destroyed

If I were a girl
Even just for a day
I'd get oudda bed in the mornin'
And take forever to ready.
Complain to my friends
As if they got a man. (Ohh)
They talk about you cause they jealous,
I just steady listen to it
I should get rid of them.

If I were a girl
I don't think I'd understand
How it feels to love a boy
I swear I'd be a better woman.
I'd listen to him
Cause I don't know everything.
I would always try to tell em
That he needs to treat me better
Like I don't godda change at all.
If I were a girl

It's a little too late for you to come back (No)
Say it's just a mistake
Think I'd forgive you like that (I don't)
If you thought I would wait for you
You thought wrong (I'm better off)

But you're just a boy
And you're just a girl
You don't understand (No)
Yeah you don't understand (Oh)
How it feels to love a girl someday
You wish you were a better man
You don't listen to her
And you don't listen to him
You don't care how it hurts
You don't care how I feel
Until you lose the one you wanted
Cause you've taken her for granted
And everything you had got destroyed
But you're just a boy
And you're just a girl

Listen To The Track:

Now Beyonce has a new albumn, 4. As it has now become a norm, there are few remixes and guy-version tracks out there covered from the albumn. I love a couple of them but the one that caught my attention was Avery Storm's duet with Bey on Best Damn Thing I Never Had

The Lyrics go like this:

[Beyonce]
What goes around comes back around (hey my baby)
What goes around comes back around (hey my baby)
What goes around comes back around (hey my baby)
What goes around comes back around (hey my baby)

There was a time
I thought, that you did everything right
No lies, no wrong
Boy I, must've been outta my mind
So when I think of the time that I almost loved you
You showed you ass and I saw the real you

Thank God you blew it
Thank God I dodged the bullet
I'm so over you
So baby good lookin' out

[Chorus]
I wanted you bad
I'm so through with that
Cause honestly you turned out to be the best thing I never had
You turned out to be the best thing I never had
And I'm gon' always be the best thing you never had
I bet it sucks to be you right now

[Avery Storm]
It's so hard that you're hurt
When we both know don't act like you never cared
I don't deserve your tears
Cause I did put them there
Think that everytime that you said I love you
You showed your ass girl that wasn't the real you
Too bad you blew it
Too bad you couldn't put the work in
You gave up on us
When we should have worked it out

[Beyonce]
I know you want me back
It's time to face the facts
That I'm the one that's got away
Lord knows that it would take another place, another time, another world, another life
Thank God I found the good in goodbye

[Chorus]
I used to want you so bad
I'm so through it that
Cause honestly you turned out to be the best thing I never had
You turned out to be the best thing I never had
And I will always be the, best thing you never had.
Best thing you never had!

I used to want you so bad
I'm so through with that
Cause honestly you turned out to be the best thing I never had
Oh you turned out to be the best thing I never had
And I will always be the best thing you never had
Oh baby, I bet it sucks to be you right now

Goes around, comes back around
Goes around, comes back around
Bet it sucks to be you right now
Goes around, comes back around
Bet it sucks to be you right now
Goes around, comes back around
Bet it sucks to be you right now

Listen to the track:

Of course there are many other versions of Beyonce's songs on the net. Many of which are not really that great but a few have the right quality to be pitted against Queen Bey's original versions.

I chose to share Lee Carr and Avery Storm's because this two guys have the voice that seamlessly fit into the original tracks.

Right now I am crazy about the dancehall remixes of End Of Time, Countdown and Party that I have come across through online and have had friends sending them to me.

Some are so good that I find myself loving the remixed version more than the original tracks. I can not get enough of the ragga/dancehall version of "Countdown".
