Khabonina Steps Up To Judge Etv Dance Talent Show

Actress/Dancer/Choregrapher/All-round-fab-girl, Khabonina Qubeka is the new judge on Step Up Or Step Out. This comes after season 1 judge, Penelope Thloloe (and her inaudible accent) was given the boot.

It was clear from the word go that Penny was not cut out for a show like Step Up or Step Out as I indicated in my review of the show. 

Former judges Arthur Mafokate and Emile Jansen resume their roles, as does host Dalen Lance.

Of her absence, head of e.tv Monde Twala commented: 

“Penny Thloloe is a talented dancer and celebrated choreographer. Her contribution in our first season was well received by viewers across South Africa. But it is important that we rejuvenate the show to keep it appealing to our audience. Step Up or Step Out is evolving. So many other changes can be expected in season two. One of the changes is that Penny will no longer be a judge.”

Funny that in my review of the show I indicated that the show needs some sassiness that Dance Your Butt Off has and now the producers have hired on of the Dance your Butt Off judges. 

Does this mean that DYBO onn SABC 1 will not be returning for another season?

I like Khabo so I am excited to see what she brings to the show. Hopefully she can help infuse some liveliness into this rather dull show.

I can not wait to see how she connects with Arthur since his rival is not gone!
