Dineo Ranaka The Designer

The former Y-FM afternoon drive DJ is not resting on her laurels after being axed from the station. Though the info that Dineo is a fashion designer is not really news to Jozi's celeb social scene, we now have confirmation of the brand name. I was first exposed to Dineo's designs at last year's SA Fashion week opening party. 

The pintsized personality promised that a line is the works and will be coming soon. That soon is NOW!!

Dineo has just introduced her clothing line, Luv DR as in (Love Dineo Ranaka)

The Club 808 presenter, who is also working on her debut solo album, says she is close to closing deals with potential clothing chains to carry her range. Should that go according to plan the line would be shops soon.

Meanwhile, her debut album should also be out sometime this year. Her song "Behind Close Doors" made its debut few weeks ago on Metro. The pop song sounds like she is channeling some Lady Gaga vibe but I love it. 

For those of you who thought radio was the end of Dineo, clearly you were mistaken as she proves to be a multifaceted entertainers. Whether these new ventures will give her as much success as her radio and tv career has still remains to be seen but given her track record we doubt she would have a tough time conquering this too!
