The Battle Of The Sexes Has Began - At the bar!

Just got an invitation to one of the hottest events on Joburg's social calendar. Cosmopolitan magazine, in partnership with Collison’s White Gold Brandy, has chosen the five guys and five girls who will compete for the title of SA’s Hottest Bartender. On the 19th we crown the winners!

The 10 finalists for 2012 have been chosen and are featured in the April issue of Cosmo. Readers had an opportunity to vote for the bartender they think should walk away with the title. 

“We’ve spiced things up this year and decided to add the girls to our search for SA’s hottest bartender. Who said only guys know how to mix a drink and look cool while doing it?” says Sbu Mpungose, editor of Cosmopolitan. “The search took us all over South Africa in the past couple of months and, looking at the 10 finalists, there is a going to be a major battle between the guys and the girls.”

Cosmopolitan Hottest Bartender search, in association with Collison’s White Gold Brandy, is now in its third year. The aim is to find the coolest mixologist in the country. 

The winner will walk away with the bragging rights of being SA’s hottest bartender, as well as a grand prize of R20 000. 

The competition is not only judged on looks: each entrant needs to submit a cocktail recipe, and will be required to prepare their cocktail on the night of the big finale in Johannesburg on 19 April. 

The 10 finalists for Cosmo Hottest Bartender 2012 are:

• Ryan Hofland from Crew Bar, Cape Town
• Zanele Mdleko from Movida, Johannesburg
• Chris Pappas previously from Taboo, now at Byblos Hubbly Lounge, Johannesburg
• Jodie Graves from Buddha Ta, Johannesburg
• Mfanelo Ndlovu from Fashion TV Cedar Square, Johannesburg
• Ashleigh Minne form Movida, Johannesburg
• Dayne Ridgway from Rocca Bar, Durban
• Lauren Brown from Knoxville Lounge Bar, Cape Town
• Nimrad Robinson from Fat Cactus Café, Cape Town
• Shanlee le Roux from Rocca Bar, Durban 

Unfortunately voting for the finalists closed on the 16th of April.
