SABC Looses Another Show To Etv

E.tv just announced that SA's Got Talent will start on the free-to-air commercial broadcaster in September. Yep, Rapid Blue has taken its popular show to another channel after the SABC2 said they had no plans to bring back the show.

When the show moves to SABC's rival channel it will be part of numerous shows in recent history  like Popstars and Kenny Kunene's So What which the national broadcaster has lost to other channels.
"We are excited that SA's Got Talent will form part of our programme offering,'' says Monde Twala, e.tv's channel head.
"This reality show gives e.tv an opportunity to showcase a large variety of South African talent across a variety of categories."
There is no way of spinning this. Whether SABC2 did not want the show anymore or not, this still looks bad for the broadcaster especially given the unflatering media coverage the SABC has been getting lately.

Trish Kinane, the president of Worldwide Entertainment, FremantleMedia;
"We are delighted that SA's Got Talent will make its debut on e.tv,"
"Got Talent has been hugely successful around the globe and we think it has enormous potential in South Africa, given the vast pool of talent in the country. We look forward to seeing what SA's Got Talent will uncover, and I have no doubt the show will be just as popular with e.tv's audiences as it has been worldwide".

No word on who the judges or the presenters will be yet. The third season of SA's Got Talent on South African television will start on Etv in September.
