I didn't think people in this country still watch B&B but clearly they do because the show attracts just over a million viewers on SABC 1. Though a far cry from they huge numbers the show used to hit in its hey-days it is still doing better than Noeleen so for that I can say it is still relevant.

In August Susan Flannery who've played the character of Stephanie Forrester for over 25 years has decided to leave the show.

The actress's famous character on the show will be written out with a lung cancer death.

Susan was one of three original cast members still appearing on the series, along with Katherine Kelly Lang, and John McCook.

She has Daytime Emmy Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for The Bold and the Beautiful three times during her time with the show

She agreed to a very short term contract extension for head writer Bradley Bell to write the character out instead of Stephanie disappearing abruptly.

Viewers in America will see Stephanie Forrester die from lung cancer in December after a goodbye party she organizes for everyone which is shown in November.

In episodes starting 18 October in America Stephanie will start to say goodbye as she delivers party invitations.

The Bold and the Beautiful will pack episodes with Stephanie Forrester flashbacks over the years and her relationships with various characters.

Even with our girl Terry Pheto in the show, The Bold has really lost its popularity over the years. These news will not really have any impact in viewership in this country but it's worth noting nonethelss, given the character's mark in Soap Opera history all over the world.
