Top Billing Celebrates 20 Years On Air

What started as one woman’s dream to showcase local talent and creativity has become South Africa’s longest running English lifestyle programme on television.

This hour-long weekly show on SABC3 has introduced audiences to fashionable celebrities, the latest design trends, hottest restaurants, world-class events and around-the-globe travel for two decades.

The first episode of the show premiered in 1992.

While the brand still remains one of the most respected and revered in the industry, the show itself has lost its glory. At present the once popular show does not even make its home channel's Top 10 shows in the ratings.

It is a pity since what the show represents transcends just being a television show but a beacon of hope for many South Africans that if you work hard you too can live the good life ala Top Billing.
