VEntertainment Hits A Milestone

South African live entertainment magazine television series produced by Don't Look Down Productions and conceptualized as the flagship entertainment show of DStv's youth channel - Vuzu, will be celebrating its 1000th episode this month with a fun packed special.
The series premiered on Vuzu on Wednesday 1 July 2009, at 19h00. Since then the platform has been witness to its main presenter being unceremoniously fired and countless local celebs throwing shades at each other ... *sideeye Somizi and Lerato*.
Every week the show has been dishing on local and international stars. Giving us the lastest mgozi and sometimes stirring the pot themselves. Nudge - Nudge-Wink!
1000 episode later, the show has clearly done something right to reach this milestone. It serves its target demographic exactly what it needs.
I might find the Voive Over guy annoying at times but for thousands of the show's fans he is the icing on the cake that is VEntertainment.
I heard it on good authority that the scriptwriter for the show is actually a 40-something year old Afrikaaner woman. Yeah all those catchy phrases are from someone who could possibly be the viewers' grandma. Awesome aint it?
"V Entertainment's 1 000th episode is a celebration and a thank you to the show's fans for helping turn it into a winning show," says the weekday production in a statement.
Word is that the show's former presenter Nonhle Thema will make a once off appearance for the celebration special episode.
"It's unlike anything you've seen before and with Nonhle Thema reprising her time as host, the scene is set for more not to be missed television."Congratulations to VEntertainment. A job well done and hopefully they will continue to be at the forefront of entertainment reporting in Mzansi for many more 1000s of episodes in the future.
Catch the 1 000 episode of the daily entertainment news show VEntertainment next Wednesday 24 April at 18:00 on Vuzu, DStv channel 116
