Strictly Come Dancing Back On SABC

Well this not really breaking news as many in the business have known about for quite some time. Unfortunately it is only now that the channel's PR team have decided to release an official confirmation, so here it is...

Popular international dance show, Strictly Come Dancing, which partners South African celebrities with professional Latin and Ballroom dancers returns for a sixth season and it will run for 10 weeks.

This international smash hit dance show will broadcast weekly from 20:00 to 22:00 with a break in between at the Renaissance Centre as the dance couples compete against each other to impress a panel of judges and the viewing public in order to survive potential elimination.

Each week during the live show viewers will be asked to vote for their favourite couple, and one couple (with the least votes) will be eliminated.

Previous celebrity winners of Strictly Come Dancing include Rob van Vuuren, Emmanuel Castis, HHP, Zuraida Jardine and Riaan Venter.

Said SABC3's marketing manager, Risuna Mayimele,

“We are excited to be bringing this high tempo, energetic and popular show to our loyal viewers. Strictly Come Dancing amassed a large following in a short space of time in South Africa and we are in no doubt that the sixth season will continue on the same vein and become the programme of choice on Wednesday evenings.”

Hosts, judges, dancers and contestants for this upcoming season will be announced at a later stage.

Strictly Come Dancing will air on Wednesdays at 20:00 on SABC3 from 10 July.
