Kriyah Leaves CRAZe
On Thursday, 27 June, Kriya Gangiah bid farewell to Etv's kids programmes. After four memorable years with the youth lifestyle shows of Shiz Niz, Frenzy, Craz-E World Live and more recently, Sistahood, Kriyah will be missed by her young fans.
The e.tv youth channel presenter on Craz-E’s popular youth shows started her career in the spotlight working for radio before she first signed on as a Shiz Niz presenter in 2009. Now she’s moving on to pursue other career opportunities after years of being a regular feature on the TV screens, and in the hearts, of young South Africans everywhere.
“Being on Craz-E has been one of my wildest adventures. It enabled me to meet some of the most interesting people in South Africa as well as from other parts of the world. I got to do some things I never dreamt I would be able to do and had so much fun in the process. Just a few of the highlights were meeting and interviewing Lil Jon as well as Ashley Greene from Twilight.I also got to hang out with some of South Africa's most talented youths at the Eskom Expo for young scientists and more recently I was honoured to be part of the Shiz Niz and Sistahood teams that were both nominated for three SAFTA Awards over the past two years, which was a first for both shows. Every show was a ‘Craz-E’ experience and I loved spending time with some of the Craz-eist fans ever,” said Gangiah.
Gangiah cites Craz-E as being an invaluable learning curve in her career and will miss regular interaction with the Sistahood community, but she is looking forward to connecting with the South African public in other new and exciting ways.
Look out for Gangiah in the coming months as she takes on some new, more mature roles, which include being one of the Bok Day Ambassadors promoting SA Rugby and being a celebrity ambassador for the Blow the Whistle Campaign, which raises awareness about abuse against women and children.
