Special Retrospective Episode Of Idol-SA

No doubt that Khaya Mthethwa's win of Season 8 of Idols has invigorated a new interest in a show that was once seen by many South Africans as a show for white people. Yeah yeah, you know I'm right! Idols:South Africa is returning for yet another another season to crown a new music star in Mzansi and to kick off the season Mnet has compiled a retrospective episode for all you fans ... and newbies to the phenomenon. 

The special episode called The Incredible Journey, looks at how Idols became a pop cultural phenomenon, the various changes the reality show underwent during the past 8 seasons, the impact the show has had on the local South African music industry and how it's transformed the lives of some of the contestants.

The show will feature interviews with people like Loyiso, Danny K, Tamara Dey and the Idols judges. Some previous Idols winners including previous Top 10 contestants will also talk about how Idols changed their lives.

The Incredible Journey will air on Mnet, DSTV channel 101, on July 21 at 18h00
