Idols Season 8 Runner-up Lands A Role On Scandal

Yep, word is that Khaya Mthethwa's runner-up Melissa Allison has landed a juicy role on the etv daily primetime soap, Scandal. 

The 24 year old PE star-in-the-making, proved her prowess for perfoming during what could have been a very unsettling duel with fans favourite, Khaya Mthethwa on Idols Season 8. Quite the professional, Melissa held her composure amid a hostile environment created by Khaya's fans who booed her during an ad break on the show.

Clearly the right people were watching her talent because Melissa is one of the very few Idols alumni who have managed to continue riding on the show's exposure after their seasons ended. 

Could we have another Jenifer Hudson here? Who knows, Melissa might just become more prolific as an actor just from the exposure that Idols gave her. 

Melissa will be playing a feisty character called Jessica for a five-to-six-episode story arc. She makes her first appearance in mid Sept.
