Introducing Up And Coming Actor Slindelo Shabalala

Those of you who are my friends on Facebook or follow me on Twitter know that I like sharing my dreams (and failures). I believe that being open about my successes and hurdles in this journey that I am on, in pursuit of a dream I have had since I was 15 years only, can only serve to inspire all those who support me to keep pushing theirs. It is such a pleasure when I see my online friends who support me see some progression in their own pursuits. Slindelo is one such friend. 

I am so proud of Slindelo Shabalala KaMazibuko . I met him in Durban at the Class Act Audition when I was travelling around the country hosting the ClassAct - Fancam. 

Not only is this young ‪#‎DreamChaser‬ a very sweet and polite guy but he had a fire in his eyes that I admired. At just 18 years old, he had the insight of a grown man and exhibited such focus and passion for acting -- it was something special to watch.

I knew if he kept that spirit he would eventually make his dream of becoming a professional actor a reality.

I remember giving him some advice on how to conduct himself when he eventually moves to Jhb to pursue his dream and have kept in contact with him via Facebook.

When he just was 8years old he joined Amajika Troupe mentored by Alfred and Tu Nokwe.  His 1st performance under the troupe was at the Civic theatre with Johnny Clegg.

Now my little "industry brother" is 21 and all grown up. Slindeli is currently doing his 3rd year at the Creative Arts College in Durban. 

I don't know if I can still call him adorable now that he is all grown up, yes ladies he is a bit of a hottie too, but he has grown to be quite a man and continues to pursue a career as an actor.

He made his television debut this week on Mzansi Magic in a film called Qhakaza.

It is a start and I hope he continues to be focused and keeps chasing that dream. One day I want to interview him on the redcarpet after his BEST ACTOR award win.
