Khanyi Mbau Is The Most Googled South African Celeb

She is notorious, scandalous, infamous, opulent and she is also stunning, popular, glamorous, talented, savvy -- nomatter which side of the fence you are on as far as Khanyi Mbau is concerned, there is no denying that South Africa's self proclaimed Queen of Bling is still as relevant today at she was the day she famously married Mandla Mthembu and unleashed a furor among conservative South Africans and became a media fodder. 

Now Khanyi Mbau is South Africa's most influential celebrity according to Google Trends.

Google Trends is a free tool that provides insight into web search trends. The research shows that Mbau is the most searched for local celeb followed by Bonang Matheba in second place and singer and songwriter, Lira in third. 

She has been written off so many time, I have lost count but the fierce Miss Mbau always manages to rise above it all like a Phoenix. No one can claim to have as many lives in this business as Khanyi has. She constantly redefines the term "comeback kid".

Nude pictures, motherhood and a surprise relationship with one of the Kwela Tebza brothers later, Ms Mbau is all grown up and has seemingly cleaned up her act. 

No longer a constant feature on the tabloid pages and a regular at random parties, Khanyi has now reclaimed her spot at the top of Mzansi's public interest for the right reasons. 

Mbau has gotten back to her acting, which I personally think she is better at than singing. She recently starred as Thandiswe in the e.tv drama, eKasi: 3 Months to The Deed .

She was also in Mzansi Love: Kasi Style – Out of Breath last month.

Khanyi Mbau can be seen, together with Nonhle Thema and Babalwa Mneno, kicking off her stilettoes and doing some good on Reality Check, every Saturday on Etv.
