Youngest Gay Black Couple To Marry In The US
Ya'll know I’m such a hopeless romantic and have read my countless sob stories about trying to find love. I have been following David Anderson for a while now and did not know that he is married. Not just that but he and his husband are the youngest black couple to marry in the US. And wait for it... their love story may just be the sweetest I have ever heard or read of.
On their first meeting they "just chilled" in front of David's parents' house until 4am. They went on their first date soon after that but only made their relationship official in October 17th of 2011.

Arent they just cute together? |
They dated for 3 years. Tre’Darrius proposed to David in October 17 2012, on their anniversary as a couple.
David and Tre'Darrius took flight to Washington, D.C. on December 7, 2012 and applied for their marriage license.
On January 17, 2013, David and Tre'Darrius flew back to Washington, D.C. While in Washington, D.C, they got legally married in front of the Lincoln Memorial. They flew back to Memphis and had their commitment ceremony, January 19, 2013.
While gay marriage is not so much of a big deal anymore and here in South Africa it is actually legal, in the United State it is not legal in all states. Much like here in South Africa where the constitution guarantees gays the rights to be equal citizens, it is still an eyebrow raiser in the US for black men to marry each other.

The couple's friend wishing them well... |
David and Tre' s nuptials goes a long way to inspire their nation and the world about equal rights to marriage.
Ok I know I am going to get questions about not having said anything about our very own "First African Wedding" so let me address that now;
While I am happy for Cameron and Thoba, at some point their nuptial lost sentiment for me because it became more about the public spectacle than just two people sharing their love. It was also curious for me that only Cameron seemed to be into the whole thing.
At the end of the day, whether I comment on their relationship or not is irrelevant. I am certain that Cam and Thoba know what they mean to each other and their relationship dynamic work for them. And I reserve my right to not comment on other people's marriages when I don't feel that it will serve any good purpose for me to.
When you read or watch videos of David and Tre, you can see that they both are into this. They are affectionate and very into each other. It is just the cutetest thing to watch and they support each other. It is not about one person dominating over the other. They are a couple.
I am very happy for my friend David who says 6 months on married life is awesome and all he had expected it to be, when I asked him.
Love you guys and congratulations AGAIN!!
