Kalawa Diva Nabs Her Debut Acting Gig

It is inspirational Thursday and today we applaud Candy Mokwena (Kalawa Diva), famously known for her Metro FM song of the year hit with Oskido Tasmandebele, who has landed a role on etv's eKasi stories: Tenderprenuers.  

Born in a musical family in Ga- Sedibeni Village, under the Rain Queen Modjadji's leadership in Limpopo, Candy is scheduled to start shooting the Asi-B produced movie from the 9th of September and wraps on the 13th of September in the heart of Limpopo province Venda. 

She will play a mayor who is tasked with cleaning her department.

About her debut acting she said;

"I’m so excited about being part of the Asi-B Film family when I was called to audition, I was reluctant at first because I’m a musician not an actor.  But when they called to tell me I got the part I was over the moon because I’ll be representing Limpopo province and it’s languages."
