Sbu Leope Gunning For A Forbes Title
Do you think Sbu Leope, popularly known as DJ Sbu, deserves the title of
Forbes Person Of The Year? Well, the campaign is on to get this
Thembisa-born #DreamChaser, who has done very well for himself in the
entertainment industry and as a businessman, to get that nod.
The Person of the Year Awards, since its inception two years ago,are said to attracted the highest calibre of nominees from across the African continent. The awards celebrate 'the individual who, for better or worse, has had the most influence on events of the year gone by' and Forbes Africa has welcomed the participation of the public.'
Born from humble beginnings and with an inspiring story of chasing dreams, knocking on doors and finally achieving his goals, his is a journey that is worth acknowledging and learning from. Sbu Leope is the quintessential role model.
He’s also a philanthropist who thrives on giving back to the youth of SA. He gives 3 talks a week to disadvantaged schools around SA, gives bursaries and offers mentor-ship to learners.
He is the founder of Sbusiso Leope Education Foundation (SLEF), a non-profit organisation that supports the enhancement of education and better pass rates in disadvantaged schools within the Gauteng region.

He is a club and radio DJ and owns a record label, TS Records with TK Nciza which is responsible for the success of artists from underprivileged backgrounds such as Zahara, who has gone on to become the biggest musician in the country.
He is a media personality that has as much command in the style pages as he does in the business pages of our media.
Sbu Leope is the whole package and his down-to-earth demeanor and humility makes him all the more loveable to those who are privileged to meet him.
With qualities like that, I think he more than deserves to add Forbes Person Of The Year accolade to his mantle.
