Johannes Takes The Title Of The Ultimate BAR.ONE Man

After 13 grueling weeks of emotional, physical and mental trials, 28 year old Midrand resident Johannes Mapalakanye won the coveted title of the Ultimate BAR.ONE Man. Season 3 of the BAR.ONE Manhunt took the Top 16 contestants and the viewers on a journey of discovering courage, leadership and integrity on a never-before-seen scale.

In an adrenaline-packed and thrill-laden grand finale (which aired Tuesday 29 Oct on SABC 1) the top 3 contestants Johannes Mapalakanye, Bongs Ndima and Zwelandile Magaya battled it out at one of South Africa’s number 1 tourist destinations, Orlando Towers to complete what has been a non-stop test of their mental and physical ability.

The grand finale solo challenges included some aptly named trials such as the Glass Box Break Out, Pallet Staircase, The Tough One and Breaking Bricks where the top 3 were pitted against each other.

Johannes Mapalakanye (who also earned the nickname of The Machine) takes home some handsome prizes including R500 000 in cash from Nestle, a Hilux Double Cab - DC 3.0 D4D RB Raider and a Yamaha Grizzly 300 quad bike sponsored by Bidvest – and, of course, the title of SA’s Ultimate BAR.ONE Man.
“Winning the competition really means a lot to me, I'm the first black African to ever win the competition and that forms part of our history. I have earned the title of the Ultimate Bar One Man the hard way, it wasn't easy at all. Competing against other 15 men from different parts of the country was really hard … but The Machine did what he's good at and that is winning” said Johannes.
The BAR.ONE Manhunt, hosted by actor and kwaito star Howza, was filmed on location at various exotic local destinations, overseas in Buenos Aires and Patagonia (Argentina).

Congrats Johannes!!!!
