SABC2 Introduces New Afrikaans Series Geraamtes in die Kas

On Tuesday, 29 October at 19:30, SABC2 debuted an exciting brand new Afrikaans drama series. Geraamtes in die Kas is set in the world of four psychiatrists and psychologists as they balance their chaotic lives: patients, families, and careers while maintaining their own sanity.

Viewers can expect to get into the minds of a no-nonsense criminal psychologist, Susan Brink (played by Anel Alexandra), a hippy music therapist (Wayne van Rooyen), an ego-stroking sex therapist (Vuyelwa Booi), and an internationally acclaimed psychiatrist (Gys De Villiers) who finds himself in a mid-life crisis when he can’t stop arguing with his dead father.

Geraamtes in die Kas illustrates the profound unity as humans, segmented only by different mental problems, riddled with ironic smiles and tears of recognition that will unite everyone who has ever had a breakdown, breakout and breakthrough.

The series was shot over a period of 12 weeks and features scenes taken at a Houghton styled mansion turned into a private practice for the residents psychiatrists and psychologists making money off mental health problems.

The official Media Launch ...

The rest of the country's SABC2 viewers were tuned to their tv screen to watch the premire episode, we were invited to a private viewing and launch for the show hosted by the channel in Houghton Johanneburg.

I do not usual do these party coverage type of article but after having worked with the channel for quiet a while now, I have to give them props for such an improvement on their media events.

The venue looked stunning. The decor was classy and the guests were not your usual Joburg crowd who attend anything and everything .

The entertainment for the night was provided by The Arrows who did an awesome rendition of single ladies which had me swing my hips... that's big because I DO NOT DANCE!!

Pasella presenter Paul Rothman did an awesome job as the MC. The alcohol flowed, the food - not so great but ok and the company was sublime.

Big thumbs up to Carol and her team for a job well done. I had a great time.
