Top 10 TV Shows In South Africa

Television viewership numbers have improved again after a slight decline last year. Generations still tops the list and is back at the 7 million mark. Sadly, some shows have fallen off the wagon. The place to be for TV shows is definitely SABC 1 though.

Special Mention: Congratulations to SABC1. 2014 is turning out to be a great year for the channel. Almost all its primetime shows are leading the competition.

NOT doin' well: Top Billing has been knocked off the SABC's TOP 10 again. The show is back to being viewed by under 1 Million viewers again.

The success of Isibaya still has not brought Mzansi Magic the numbers it needs to compete with the welfareTV channels. The numbers are just too low and constant repeats and cross channel broadcasting that DSTV does does not help the show or the channel much in retaining loyal viewership margin.

As you can see with the table above, Muvhango is the second most watched soapie in South Africa with just over 4 million viewers.
