Benni McCarthy To Host The New Season Of Goal Diggerz

News just in is that former Orlando Pirates striker and sometimes musician, Benni McCarthy is now to add television presenter onto his CV. As one of the most accomplished footballers to emerge from the continent, having played in some of Europe’s biggest leagues for 14 years, Benni McCarthy is touted by the producers of Goal Diggerz as the perfect candidate to take viewers on a journey through the glamorous lives of African football players plying their trade abroad.

McCarthy has enjoyed an illustrious playing career, most notably winning a UEFA Champions League medal in 2004 with Portuguese club F.C. Porto; while his swansong season in professional football saw him claim all domestic titles with the famed Orlando Pirates F.C.

Goal Diggerz, season three will give viewers an exclusive glimpse into the off-field lives of some of the most successful African footballers representing the continent on the global stage. From how they prepare their favourite meals to what designer labels they prefer when going out; Goal Diggerz is a premium ticket into the lavish life of Africa’s finest soccer players.

The third season of Goal Diggerz will see McCarthy visit players such as Crystal Palace-based Kagiso Dikgacoi, Kenyan midfielder Victor Wanyama, former Orlando Pirates star Andile Jali and French international defender Pascal Chimbonda where he will show viewers how these players live the “ballin life”.

While McCarthy has proven to be a man of few talents including being a musician, it remains to be seen if he has the chops to be a television host.
