Did You Know These TV Stars Are Openly Gay?
It's 2014 so the fact that someone is gay is not news. I will however admit that I was kinda shocked when I found out these tv stars are gay... not people think I'm gay or closet cases... but openly gay celebrities who have done interviews talking about their sexuality. While it is a perceived notion that being openly gay in Hollywood will negatively affect your career, these stars prove that sexuality has nothing to do with craft.
- Keith Hamilton Comb
You may recognize Combb from The Young and the Restless. The soap star who is now 51, revealed to People magazine that he was gay in 2010. The actor had appeared on the famous gay tv show, Noah's Arc.
“I never denied I was Gay…I mean I’m nearly fifty, never was linked with a woman. The few ‘red carpet’ affairs I attended were set up by the studio; an obvious set up. This can’t be a surprise.”
- Guillermo Diaz
I gotta admit I was a shocked that Guillermo Diaz, aka, Huck from Scandal and Guillermo on Weeds is gay. The actor, from Washington Heights in NYC, said his upbringing often forced him to keep his orientation a secret–but it did help with his work as an actor. He has, however been openly gay for years according to what he told OUT Magazine.
“I went to school in the Bronx. I learned to constantly try to cover up the fact that I was gay. That facade of being somebody I’m really not just to protect myself definitely helped with acting.”
- B.D. Wong
The 52-year-old Chinese-American actor has been living openly as a gay man for year apparently.
- Greg Rikaart
When The Supreme Court in America handed down i’ts decision to strike down DOMA and Prop 8, a watershed moment for the LGBT community in that country, it inspired many gay people to open up about their sexual orietation to the world, including “The Young & The Restless” star Greg Rikaart, who revealed to his fans via Twittwr that he’s gay.

- Cynthia Nixon
The Sex and The City star gave several interviews in 2004 with no official coming out, but was she revealed that she was living with her now-fiancée Christine Marinoni.
"In terms of sexual orientation I don't really feel I've changed ... I'd been with men all my life, and I'd never fallen in love with a woman. But when I did, it didn't seem so strange. I'm just a woman in love with another woman."
- Wentworth Miller
The Prison Break star revealed in 2013 that he tried to commit suicide at 15-years-old as he struggled to keep his homosexuality a secret. His reason?
"I am deeply troubled by the current attitude toward and treatment of gay men and women by the Russian government," he wrote. "The situation is in no way acceptable, and I cannot in good conscience participate in a celebratory occasion hosted by a country where people like myself are being systematically denied their basic right to live and love openly."
