Phila Mazibuko Returns To SABC1

Former LIVE and Mzansi Insider presenter is returning to SABC1 as an actor in the new season of Soul City, which will premiere on the channel in July. 

The actor/presenter last made the news when he was unceremoniously canned from SABC late night music show Sky Room Live but the star remained on our screen as an actor on SABC2's popular soapie, Muvhango. 

On Soul City, Mazibuko plays AB Abednego. Of his character and the show Mazibuko said,  

“This series speaks to all South Africans, particularly the youth. It questions individuals and encourages us to acknowledge our role in bettering society. Soul City 12 asks, do we add value? Do we care for each other? Are we our brother’s keeper? Are we trustworthy? And what can we do to improve our situation? In the show I’m looking for real connections with people although I know many. I need to show people who I really am and be willing to risk rejection.”
