Tyra Banks Returns To Talkshow Hosting In 2015

After over a decade of hosting and judging fashion model hopefuls on "America's Next Top Model"  — Tyra Banks is giving talk tv a go again. The supermodel has just signed a deal with Disney-ABC to host and executive produce a brand new daily talk show that will make its debut in 2015.

This will be her second try at talk tv after   The Tyra Banks Show, which was broadcast in South Africa on SABC3 and SABC1, was cancelled after a five-season stint and earned her two Daytime Emmys.

The yet-to-be named daytime talkshow format will focus on lifestyle content, ranging from fashion and beauty tips that Banks is known (and trusted) for, to entertaining and home improvement. In addition, Banks will use her entrepreneurial knowledge and mogul-mindedness to advice her audience on how to empower themselves and help them to reach their full potential.
"The fire to inspire women and help them to blaze new paths fiercely burns inside of me," Banks said in a press release.
"I'm excited to be partnering with Disney-ABC to usher in a new era of lifestyle, beauty and entertainment that will inspire women to be the CEO of their lives via honesty, humor and the newest tips and tricks without being intimidating or precious."
The show will be done by Disney and produced by Summerdale Productions with Tyra Banks as executive producer.
"Tyra is an enormous and vibrant talent with widespread appeal and we're eager to introduce her new lifestyle show that will incorporate her personal message of self-confidence," said Disney in a statement announcing Tyra Banks' new talk show.
With a social media reach of 28 million followers, Banks already has a built-in audience. We'll see, come 2015, if any of the local channels here in South Africa will carry the show.
