Former Survivor SA Contestant To Compete At The Gay Games In The USA

On Survivor South Africa, Zavion Kotze, was billed as a wedding planner but as seen by viewers, the chiseled Joburger was anything but just a wedding planner. Zavion quickly showed his atheletic prowess when he came a formidable force in challenges and was pitted as a possible threat to win the game.

Born in Joburg, he grew up in KZN where he played for the Sharks’ Sevens under 21 team, before turning to athletics.He also came into Survivor with four SA Student Decathlon Champion titles under his belt.

It has come as no surprise that post Survivor, Zavion is now embarking on a sporting adventure.

Zavion will be competing in 15 events at the Gay Game which will be held in Cleveland, Ohio.

Gotta admit I had no idea there is such a thing as the Gay Games. Obviously, I had to ponder a thought as how they are different from other games but I dread the nuisance of being called homophobic, so I did not ask.

I turned to Google and according to the games' website;
The Games are open to all adults - regardless of sexual orientation or athletic ability. With more than 35 sports (from darts to triathlon, bowling to softball) and 2 cultural events (band and chorus), there's something for everybody.
The 2014 Gay Games presented by the Cleveland Foundation will be happening from 9 to 16th August 2014.

Survivor hottie Zav will be flying our South African flag high, and if his performance on Survivor is anything to go by, he may just return with a few medals.

Good luck to Zav!!
