Katlego Maboe Gets Drenched For A Good Cause

Expresso Morning Show presenter Katlego Maboe had a cold and wet Monday morning after being nominated by Leigh-Anne Williams to take part in the Ice Bucket Challenge.

A wave of celebrities including President Barack Obama have been taking part in this latest viral campaign, which calls on individuals to share videos of themselves being drenched in ice water to promote awareness for Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also known as Motor Neuron Disease, and then nominate others to follow suit.

If they refuse, they have to donate money to the disease, although most participants have been getting drenched and donating, too.

Kat is one of the first South Africans to take part in the global campaign, which is close to his heart as his sister was diagnosed with the disease.

He has nominated Maps Maponyane, Poppy Ntshongwana, and Sport and Recreation Minister, Fikile Mbalula, to take up the challenge next because he believes they are fun and vibrant South Africans who are likely to accept. They have 24 hours!
