Aaliyah's Lifetime Biopic Release Date Revealed
The long-awaited Aaliyah biopic gets a premier date…The made for TV movie produced by Wendy Williams and starring Alexandra Shipp which is based on the 2002 biography 'Aaliyah: More Than a Woman' by Christopher John Farley, will be released in November on Lifetime.
The film also signed on two new faces — Chattrisse Dolabaille will play Missy Elliot and former Canadian “So You Think You Can Dance” contestant Izaak Smith will play Timbaland.
Lifetime released the first visuals to the highly anticipated film and we’re kinda feeling like it could be good.
Former Disney star Zendaya Coleman was originally cast as Aaliyah to mixed reactions when she suddenly pulled out due to a conflict of interest.
Aaliyah's family expressed to the media that it was against the movie because they felt it was more suited to the big screen. Let's be honest though, Aaliyah's passing was a shock and she was a talented girl but she was not Beyonce.
Lifetime channel is available in South Africa to all DStv Premium subscribers on channel 131.
