AUDITIONS: Casting For Miss South Africa Happening In Jhb

The search for a new Miss South Africa to replace current ambassador Rolene Strauss, when her reign ends in March next year, has begun and the final open casting will take place in Johannesburg this month.

Castings have already been held in Cape Town, Durban and Port Elizabeth and now it’s the turn of Gauteng. Registration begins at 8am, and entrants are advised to get there early to avoid the queues.

The contestants will need to bring their swimwear and sarong and an interview outfit, a copy of their ID document and matric certificate.

Entry forms and a photographer will be at the castings should they be required.

The winner of the Miss SA title will receive more than R1.2million in prizes.

According to the Miss SA management team, the judges will be looking for someone with charisma, the quintessential South African girl-next- door who is not afraid to speak her mind and is passionate about her country. Just be yourself, let your personality shine through

The Miss South Africa criteria is in keeping with international pageants and applicants must;

  • Be at least 18 years old and not older than 27 years on 01 February 2015,
  • Be a South African citizen and in possession of a valid South African ID document or passport and be in possession of a Matric certificate or equivalent qualification.
  • Not be married and never have had a marriage annulled, not be engaged, never have given birth and not be pregnant.
  • Not  have any visible tattoos.

All Miss South Africa finalists will be required to perform a limited number of engagements and will, therefore, not be eligible to enter another national competition except with the written permission from the organisers.

Casting in Johannesburg will be held at The Maslow hotel in Sandton on Sunday, October 26.
