Jonathan Boyton- Lee Talks Charity, Education & Peermont Emperors Palace Charity Mile

This blog was selected to the media partner for the Charity Mile race happening in Turffontein on Saturday 1st November. We were partnered with Top Billing Presenter Jonathan Boyton-Lee. We had a chat with the dashing presenter about the evevnt and his involvement.

  • Why did you agree to be part of PEPCM?

I never have to think twice when being asked to do something for a good cause. Charity work is so important for me.

  • How important is giving back to you as a public figure?

Whether being in the public eye or not, I believe we all have a responsibility and an obligation to do good, to be examples, to give back. "The only way to find yourself, is to lose yourself in the service of others"

  • Star Schools is all about helping learners improve their grades. What would your encouragement be to young South Africans about the importance of education?
Education is of vital importance, but so is being a dreamer. That's not often taught at schools. Use your education to realise your dreams. Don't ever become a realist. If someone tells you to be "realistic", scratch them off your list.
  • You turned heads at the J&B met this year, will you be wearing a similarly striking outfit on race day or are you gonna keep it low key?
I'll be dressed by Shaldon Kopman(Naked Ape) again and he always puts something special together for me. His outfits are never low key and it's always exciting to see what he'll come up with next. It's not about striving to stand out though, I just simply wear something that's a reflection of me, something that I'm comfortable in. Shaldon understands that and his clothes are just world class, the detail and attention that goes into them is mind-blowing. There's a reason why the "king of cool" Samuel L Jackson is a big Naked Ape fan .

The Peermont Emperos Palace Charity Mile is happening on Saturday November 1st in Turfontein Johannesburg. Some of the other celebrities involved in this event are Amanda Du Pont, Carol Tshabalala, Edith Venter and others.

Other television and media personalities will be invited so come along on Saturday and experience a day of fun, fashion, horseracing and mingling ... all of course for a good cause.

Hope to you see you guys there, dressed to kill!
