Former Generations Star Rosie Motene Returns To TV

It has been a decade since Rosie Motene left the country's highest rated soap, which made her a household name. Now the actress is returning to our TV screens and will be appearing in another soapie.

She is best known for her role as journalist Tshego Motene on the SABC1 soapie Generations — a role she played between 2000 and 2004.

After leaving Generations, she was cast in the Don Cheadle movie, Hotel Rwanda. Afterwhich she took a break from acting.

Motene returns to acting in a role that is described as tantalizing. She will be playing a villain in Mzansi Magic's soap Zabalaza.

During her long hiatus from acting Motene dabbled in directing and producing. She still made an occasional appearance at industry events but her more prominent role was campaigning for gender violence.

Last year she traveled extensively promoting Akin Omotoso's film "Man On The Ground" — an independent film she co-produced inspired by the 2008 xenophobic attacks in South Africa.

Catch Zabalaza on Mzansi Magic (Dstv channel 161) weekdays at 21:00
