DJ Fresh And Yvonne Chaka Chaka Help Select SA's First Doodle-4-Google Winners

After receiving thousands of entries from schools across the country, yesterday Google South Africa announced the winner of its Doodle 4 Google competition. 5FM Dj Fresh and singer Yvonne Chaka Chaka were the celebrities who formed part of the judging panel for the competition. 


The overall national winner, Katya Ludick, is a Grade 8 pupil from Noordheuwel High School in Krugersdorp. She created a nature-themed doodle, symbolising a South Africa free of poaching.
"The reflection symbolises 20 years of freedom. In my South African dream, there is no more poaching. We must fight for those that can't speak," Ludick said of her doodle.
Her doodle appears on the Google South Africa homepage today (3 December). She also wins a R100,000 technology grant for her school.

Doodle 4 Google Guest Judges were selected on the basis that they are inspiring leaders in their fields: Entertainment, Literature, Art, Technology & Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Sport. They were;
