Wrestling Star Batista To Star In A New Bond Fim

WWE Champion Dave 'Batista' Bautista is proving that there's enough room in Hollywood for two wrestling heavyweights. He has followed in Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson's foot steps and jumped in to the movies. Following his role as Drax in Marvel blockbuster Guardians Of The Galaxy, the 45-year-old is set to star in a new James Bond Film.

Batista will play Mr. Hinx in the film titled Spectre, and will be seen going one-on-one with Daniel Craig's Bond.

The film will focus on a global terrorist organisation named Spectre — the main villain of the story is unknown, though rumoured to be played by Christoph Waltz, but Mr. Hinx is to be his muscle.

In August word leaked that producers were looking for Hinx to be this generation's Oddjob or Jaws, two iconic Bond baddies played by Harold Sakata and Richard Kiel, who passed away this year, respectively.

Spectre, which began filming in early December, will be the wrestler and actor's second appearance in a Hollywood blockbuster.

Earlier this year he had a starring role in Guardians Of The Galaxy, which grossed over R7.5Billion worldwide.

Batista came to fame in the early 2000's as a professional wrestler in the WWE, where he was a main event attraction for much of his tenure.

He has become a household name and a wrestling fan favourite in South Africa.
