Bonang, Phat Joe And Jeanie D To Judge New Presenter Search Show

As I reported here few weeks ago, SABC3 will be embarking on a search to find three new presenters for their magazine shows. Today the channel has revealed that Top Billing presenters Bonang and Jeanie D as well as SABC1's Real Goboza host Phat Joe will be the judges on the presenter search show.

Well the wait is over. The show is here. This month sees the launch of SABC3’s nation-wide auditions for the all new Presenter Search on 3 reality TV series brought to you by Nedbank.

This time there will not just be one winner but three! One spot is reserved for the next glamorous Top Billing presenter, another for a candidate that shines on live TV who will join the Expresso Morning Show and the third winner will be the co-host of a brand new SABC3 show, which will be revealed later in the series!

This year’s Presenter Search on 3 will be held in memory and in tribute to one of South Africa’s favourite Top Billing presenters, 2010 Presenter Search winner: Simba Mhere. In previous years Top Billing’s Presenter Search enjoyed immense popularity with thousands of hopefuls vying for the coveted role of being a Top Billing presenter.

2010 and 2012 winners Simba Mhere and Jonathan Boynton-Lee were catapulted to instant and lasting fame. This bromantic duo were poised and ready to host Presenter Search on 3.

Executive producer of Presenter Search on 3 Patience Stevens has stated that;

“The tragic death of Simba Mhere is a devastating blow to Top Billing – and to the Presenter Search. Simba was so looking forward to co-presenting the new series with his close friend and colleague Jonathan Boynton-Lee.

Their energy on screen together and their personal experience of both being Presenter Search winners was something that we all hoped would bring a special magic to the show.

We will dedicate the new series to Simba – and to his memory – and hope to carry out the search with the same positive energy and zest for life that reflects the spirit Simba brought to every project he tackled.”

In solidarity with Simba’s family and friends Presenter Search on 3 will bring together the SABC presenting family. SABC familiar presenter faces from Top Billing, Expresso, as well as surprise guests from other SABC shows will host elimination challenges and mentor contestants with top presenter tips.

Auditions will take place in:

• Cape Town on the 13th and 14th February,

• Port Elizabeth on the 22nd February,

• Durban on the 28th February and 1stof March

• Johannesburg on the 6th, 7th and 8th of March.
