Etv Bids Farewell To Ek Se — Confirms My Report

As I reported, Ek Se Let's Talk is canned and etv is working on a new talkshow. The channel released an official statement on Thursday confirming what I reported. Read the channel's press release after the jump...

After two successful seasons, Ekse: Let’s Talk with Masechaba Lekalake will come to an end on Thursday the 26 of March 2015. The show made its first debut on eKasi+ channel 105 on Openview HD in 2012.
Ekse: Let’s Talk with Masechaba Lekalake is a frank talk show that deals with social issues that are often whispered over the township fences. Anchored by journalist Masechaba Lekalake, comedian Tol Ass Mo and socialite Refilwe Modiselle, the trio discusses pertinent social issues ranging from education to relationships and political matters that affect the ordinary man on the street. No topic is off the list.

"It is an honor and a privilege to have pioneered a fresh approach to talk television in South Africa, with a dynamic team. It's been an incredible journey, however I have chosen not to renew my contract for Ekse Let's Talk. Although I've moved on from the show, I have not left the channel; and I'm proud to be associated with a visionary brand like e. I'm still committed to generating real conversations with a social impact. We've only just tipped the iceberg, there's definitely more to come! I'd like to thank our audience for the love and continued loyalty", said Masechaba Lekalake.

“I had the time of my life on the show. It gave me the opportunity to learn so many things about myself, the South African economy and most importantly how to be taken seriously. People only saw me as a comedian and the talk show gave diversity in the work that I do” said comedian Tol Ass Mo.

The effervescent Refilwe Modiselle will be pursuing other goals on the small screen.

“We wish our hosts and co-host all the best with their future endeavors. The high standard of expertise and professionalism they both possess is truly admirable. We are grateful for the working relationship we had with the team and the experience they shared with us,” Says Monde Twala, MD of e.tv Channels Division.

The last episode of Ekse: Let’s Talk with Masechaba Lekalake will TX on Thursday on the 26 of March 2015.
