Is The Link On SABC1 Getting CANCELLED?

For the past 2 weeks I have been trying relentlessly to get answers about why the renewal of Bonngoe Production's The Link has been delayed. Needless to say after waiting ... and  waiting for answers, I am forced to publicly ask the question; IS THE LINK CANNED?

Upon getting information that the magazine show hosted by Lerato Kganyago on SAB1, The Link, was not shooting any new material because their latest season had not been picked up by the SABC, I immediately sent an email to SABC asking if they could clarify why the show had not been picked up for a new season yet.

I spoke to the PR department at SABC, who sent me to the Corporate Communications Department, who reverted me to the SABC Spokesperson Kaiser Kganyago's office. At the time he was unable to answer my call on his cell phone so I trusted that his office will see to it that he will revert back to me with an answer — alas none came.

Seeing that I am in the business of BREAKING STORIES, I opted on the alternative which was to contact the production company directly. An email was sent to Bonngoe Production, which is also yet to be replied to.

If the show is going nowhere and there is no story here, why not just say so?

Given that the show's host Lerato Kganyago is rumored to be linked ( see what I just did there... couldn't resist ) to new development at Etv, one would think the channel and production company would just want to set the record straight and end the speculations now.

It is common knowledge that with the new RFP SABC has put out, major changes are coming back to the channel. With major changes and new show, there will inevitably be casualties. Is The Link one of the casualties if SABC's new vision?

As I wait for answers... catch The Link on SABC1 on Thursdays at 18h30.
