Former Generations Star Joins Muvhango

Rantebeng Makapan is the latest newcomer on SABC2's primetime soap Muvhango. The former Generations star will be playing the role of Morapedi Mojalefa.

Morapedi Mojalefa is nothing like his little sister. They are three years apart, and do not share the same things in life. He is as pessimistic as they come where she is an optimist. When their parents’ businesses took a knock, Morapedi had finished his matric the year before and had decided to take a gap year.

Character background;

He had enrolled with Wits University to do a journalism degree and the knock happened a few months before he was supposed to register. This meant that he would not be able to afford the fees.

Things were so bad that his father struggled to give him the registration fee. He gave up without even putting up a fight. He therefore did not go to university because his parents could not afford it.

He took the knock very hard, blaming everything on his father and not wasting any moment in telling his parents that they destroyed his chances of a successful life and a university degree.

“Shooting Muvhango has been a great experience. I just hope the viewers will warm up to this character. Being part of the soapie has also helped propel my career to the next level. Muvhango is one of the leading soapies and working here is a dream come true,” said Makapan.
Rantebeng Makapan is obviuosly best known for his role as spoilt brat Thomas Mashaba – the son of the villainous Kenneth Mashaba (Seputla Sebogodi) - on the SABC1 soapie Generations.

He will make his on screen debut on Muvhango on Friday, May 1.

Catch Muvhango, Mondays to Fridays at 21:00 on SABC2.
