Food lovers are in for a treat as the Mzansi International Culinary Festival 2015, which focuses on uniting our African nation through food, will be happening in Johannesburg this month.

Leading international female chefs from across the continent will descend upon South Africa during Africa Month to stand together and showcase their skills through a celebration of African food and culture.

The 7 chefs who will be participating in the fest are from South Africa, Ghana, Nigeria, Senegal, Uganda and Zimbabwe.

According to MiCF they believe that we can tap into unique African flavours, enhance well-known local dishes with interesting and indigenous ingredients that are available to the market.

At the event you can expect to meet local food producers and taste their produce cooked by the various restaurants that will give tastings and sell dishes from various regions of Africa. Children will see people who produce their food while learning how to eat healthy at the “kiddies’ corner”
