Ashes to Ashes Season 2 COMING SOON

Etv's telenovela Ashes to Ashes ended with a bang last night. The show's finale episode caused quite a frenzy on social media as the fans were riveted by the murderous rampage of Tsietsi. Fans called for the show not to end but unfortunately all good things must come to an end. 

Since it debut on the channel when it was pitted as the rival to the dominant Generations The Legacy, Ashes has managed to hold its own. While the show failed to take Generations head on with ratings, averaging between 1.7 to 2million, jaxtaposed to its timeslot competitor's enormous 5 million plus audience pul, Ashes was none the less a force to be reckoned with. 

The Clive Morris Productions show was a lifeline for some of the unceremoniously fired actors from Generations and also introduced some new faces on ours screens. Now, it is over. The show is making way for a new telenovela on etv, Gold Diggers. 

Ashes fans need not fret though. Etv channel head Monde Twala has hinted on few occasions that Ashes to Ashes will definitely have a second season. Twala teased us as recent as last week at the launch of Gold Diggers about Ashes having a second season but could not be drawn to give date specifics but it is safe to say the success of the show compelled the channel to renew it. 

No word yet on whether contracts have been signed with actors who will return. My personal ascertain is that most of the lead stars will return. I also believe that the show will likely be on air just after Gold Diggers wraps its season. 

Sadly if I am correct, it might be a long wait until we see the second season ... but it is coming.
