The Voice South Africa COMING to Mnet

Word from Mnet, a parent company for Idols South Africa, announced today in Jhannesburg that a local version of the international hugely popular singing competition show, The Voice, is in the works. 

SABC3 carried the American version of the show for 2 season until abandoning it when the SABC faced some financial woes. At the time there were some murmurs that the channel might explore the possibility of a local version. 

Well, now Mnet has taken the baton. With Idols South Africa ratings dropping on Mnet and growing on its simulcast episodes on Mzansi Magic, one can say it is no surprising that Mnet is looking to add a music talent show exclusively on the channel. 

Oops I didnt mention that? ... sadly the The Voice SA will only air on Mnet, unlike Idols SA which can be seen on both Mnet and Idols at the same time. 

No word yet on who the judges will be and details for audition are said to be made public in September. The show will air in 2016.
