Ukhozi's Selby Mkhize Will Be Covering Joburg Gay Pride | HIV Testing Provided At Event

The sassy Selby Mkhize, Ukhozi FM’s controversial conversation kick starter and WeTheBrave.co.za’s new campaign champion, will be attending the Johannesburg Pride Festival to give the public a unique behind-the-scenes peek at his Pride adventures.

Selby, AKA Selbeyonce, has been sent by the WeTheBrave.co.za sexual health campaign to document his experiences at Pride, exclusively for “Selby’s Diaries”.  He will be snapping videos and pics that will be posted on the WeTheBrave.co.za website, as well as on the campaign’s Facebook, Twitter and Instagram platforms.

Ecstatic to be attending Pride for the very first time, Selby says,

“OMG! I am so excited to be sharing all the behind-the-scenes action with my and WeTheBrave.co.za’s fabulous followers! I cannot wait for you all to see the rainbow flags flying high, not to mention all the beautiful people taking part!”   

Selby will also be raising awareness around WeTheBrave.co.za and the importance of looking after one’s sexual health. He shares,

“There is not a lot out there about sexual health, especially for gay men and men who have sex with men. The campaign, spearheaded by the Anova Health Institute and funded by the Elton John Foundation, informs people in a non-judgemental way about what measures they need to take to keep themselves and their partners safe.”

Free HIV testing will be provided in the Health4Men gazebo. Selby will be visiting the gazebo to offer support. He concludes,

“Are you Brave enough to get tested? Come join us in getting our Brave on! Pride gives us a platform to be heard and it is going to be absolutely fabulous.”  

Johannesburg Pride Festival, which will be taking place on Saturday, 31 October 2015 at Bidvest Wanderers Stadium on 35 Corlett drive.
