Arnold Schwarzenegger Coming to South Africa in May
Movies star and former governor of California, Arnold Schwarzenegger will making an appearance in South Africa in May 2016.
Following the success and experiencing year-on-year growth over the past 26 years, The Arnold Classic event has become one of the biggest sports festivals in the world. Arnold Schwarzenegger and his partners subsequently decided to expand internationally and host an Arnold Classic on each continent.
The flagship event takes place in the USA in March, with additional events in Australia, Brazil and Spain.

At a presser held in Sandton, an announcement was made that South Africa has been selected as the African host country. Dubbed the Arnold Classic Africa, the event [in partnership with the City Of Johannesburg] is set to be held at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg.

A minimum of 20 sporting codes hosting youth, amateur and professional events are expected to be part of the spectacle. Simultaneously the Arnold Classic Fitness Expo will offer an array of some of the biggest international and national brands an exhibition platform at the venue.
The sport festival will also host the world’s top IFBB pro and amateur line-ups, giving South African amateurs and pro athletes the opportunity to stand against the best in the world.
During the press conference, Schwarzenegger skyped in and confirmed that he will be coming to South Africa for the event.
The Arnold Classic Africa Sports Festival takes place in Johannesburg at the Sandton Convention Centre on 27th, 28th and 29th May 2016.
