What To Expect On SABC3 This Autumn

SABC3 with its dynamic style renovation, and new look and feel continues to bring its viewers pulsating, cheerful and pertinent viewing with a selection of thrilling and exciting dramas and reality shows such as: Take It All, Hair Battle Spectacular, Fashion Show: The Ultimate Collection, Whose Wedding is it Anyway; Survivor, The Mentalist and CSI: Miami.

February 2016 on SABC3 we saw some new and exciting entertainment as well as some new timeslot changes. February not only saw a first for SABC3 but a first for South Africa with the brand new Sci-Fi drama Humans premiering on the channel.
Monday evening’s SABC3 catered for family and the men in the family.  
Tuesdays became our “ladies nights” with female variety shows such as Top Chef, Botched and Dr. 90210.  
Wednesday’s we turned our attention back to the male viewers with back to back action dramas. 
Every Thursday following Top Billing is some tantalizing cooking shows. Save with Jamie kicks off in April with super impressive and surprisingly affordable recipes which promise to keep our female audiences glued to their screens. 
This April is all about comedy. Friday evenings we will have you in stitches with our comedy night which includes the hilarious American comedy television series The Exes followed by back to back local and foreign Stand-up comedy. Saturdays we satisfy our female viewers with the repeats of our weekday reality shows. Saturday nights are movie nights and SABC3 brings you a double bill of movies from 7pm. To end off the week the channel will be giving their male audiences some intriguing car shows and documentaries including Top Gear and Ross Kemp: Extreme Worlds, Doctors without Borders and many more. 

During April to June SABC3 audiences can look forward to some exciting new shows and some new seasons of their favourite programmes.

Kick starting April is the all new Golden Globe Award-winning Brooklyn Nine-Nine as well as the hilarious Whitney. April also sees the return of Olivia Pope and her gladiators in The Fixer (Season 3).

Local is always lekker and the popular series, Jam Sandwich continues its musical journey with its innovative fourth season but this time on SABC3. Still on the local front meet Bryan Miles in his ground-breaking new TV show, One Day with Bryan Miles. Returning for the fourth season is the new and improved Man Cave and we see Janez and Siv take on Thailand.

Other popular series coming up include; Hair Battle Spectacular (Season 2), Whose Wedding is it Anyway (Season 7); Our First Home (Season 1) and Charlie’s Angels (Season 2).



BRAND NEW SHOWS STARTING IN APRIL, MAY & JUNE 2016:

  • Brooklyn Nine Nine (Foreign Drama) 1 April @ 20h30. (First Premiere)  

                       
Brooklyn Nine Nine is a new single-camera ensemble comedy about what happens when a talented, but carefree, detective and his diverse group of colleagues get a new captain with a lot to prove. Detective Jake Peralta is gifted enough that he’s never had to work too hard or follow the rules too closely. NBC’s Whitney is a hilarious look at modern day love, which centers around Whitney (Whitney Cummings, Chelsea Lately) and Alex (Chris D’Elia, Glory Daze), a happily unmarried couple. Together for three years, the duo is in no rush to get hitched, which seems to get a mixed response from their friends.

Jamie Oliver’s back with this optimistic, inventive and super-helpful new food series. He wants to inspire people around the world to eat better and spend less on their weekly food bills by giving us some of his most useful money saving but seriously delicious recipes to date.

This American comedy television series revolves around the unlikely trio of Phil (Donald Faison), Haskell (Wayne Knight) and Stuart (David Alan Basche), three roommates and divorcés who have finally found bromance after initially being forced to live together by their divorce attorney and landlord, Holly (Kristen Johnston),  who also happens to be their landlord. Holly avoids her own relationship and commitment issues by becoming immersed in the men's affairs as they put their lives back together and return to the dating scene.

The new, improved Man Cave is revealed and punches its way back onto your screens, as Janez and Siv take on Thailand. And Lunga and Siv craft the weapons of their ancestors in the fires of Mikula Forge.

A daily morning lifestyle show celebrating South African heritage and achievements and inspiring the Afrikaans community to live their best life. The show will bring laughter, entertainment and positivity into the SABC3 viewers’ homes and become appointment viewing by delivering the kind of information viewers need in the morning to enhance their day.

We are reacquainted with Dr. Rey, introduced to handsome bachelor Dr. Diamond, and meet female surgeon Dr. Li. as the second season opens; we catch up with Dr. Rey, his family and his staff. Since the premiere of Dr. 90210, Dr. Rey's business has skyrocketed, forcing him to take on two new staff members and contemplate finding a larger office.
