Amber Rose Gets Her Own Talk Show
Bear with me hear... Last summer, Amber took to Instagram to tease what looked like her own talk show set — and now all's been revealed! Insta-Star and celebrity socialite Amber Rose has a talkshow.
On Tuesday the former squeeze of Kanye West and Wiz Khalifa announced her own weekly talk show on VH1. I will admit, I am not an Amber fan, simply because I don't know what she does or is really famous for. However (this is why I needed you to bear with me on this) the woman has managed to turn a hobby into a moneymaker and that is worth reporting on.
There is something to be said and commended about people who turn things we all have but hardly see as a business opportunity as a money making platform for them. For that, GO MAMA!
Produced by Dr. Phil’s and his son Jay McGraw’s Stage 29 Productions, the untitled weekly series will be hosted by Rose and no premiere date has yet been determined according to stateside media.
The weekly series will feature Rose conducting candid interviews with celebrity friends and leading what is billed as provocative, entertaining and humorous conversations with guests on topics including pop culture, motherhood, relationships, friendships, race and entrepreneurship.
Stage 29 president McGraw alongside the company’s Phil McGraw, Carla Pennington, Patty Ciano and Jeff Hudson will executive produce the series; Mona Scott-Young is on board as consulting exec producer, while Rose and her partner Walter Mosley will also exec produce for her Behind Her Shades Entertainment banner. Nina L. Diaz and Trevor Rose will oversee for VH1.
For her resumè, this is what Ms Rose is billed as;
Amber Rose started her career as a model before turning to acting and fashion design. She was discovered by Kanye West after appearing in Ludacris’ “What Them Girls Like” video in 2008. After Dating West, she married and divorced Wiz Khalifa. Her unscripted credits include Russell Simmons’ Running Russell Simmons,RuPaul’s Drag Race, Master of the Mix and, more recently, ABC scripted comedy Black-ish. Simon & Schuster published Rose’s first book, How to Be a Bad Bitch, in October. And in March, she launched an emoji app called MUVAmoji, a play on her nickname “Muva Rose.”
“Amber has inspired millions of young women by overcoming homelessness to become a wildly successful entrepreneur,” VH1 GM Chris McCarthy said.
Ohkay. well congrats to Amber and her team. Americans abadlale, if the show doesnt deliver it will be pulled off air faster than you can say Hollywood marriage. The lady has a lot of live up to. The like of Housewives of New York star Bethanny, movie star Queen Latifah and famous momager Kris Jenner haven't faired well in that space.
“A true multihyphenate, she is a devoted mother, a strong advocate for women’s rights and a celebrated author all of which make her an ideal host. Amber is a perfect addition to the VH1 family because our audience is interested in hearing unique perspectives from those who are unapologetically themselves and not afraid to take a stand on issues they are passionate about.”
