ICYMI: Tamar Braxton Reportedly Fired For Being TOO GHETTO and TOO GAY |

In case you missed the hoohah around Tamar Braxton’s sudden firing from ‘The Real,’ Twitter went crazy the other day when reports came from the Us that Toni Braxton's sister was fired from the talk show. Well, rumours swirls about why and now executives at Telepictures, the production company behind the show, are apparently expanding on the reason behind the decision.

It was widely reported Tamar’s firing had to do with her professionalism on set and the fact that she wasn’t testing well with audience, but (hold o to your seat) there is more.

Apparently one of  Tamar Braxton's negative feedback by focus groups was that she had a ‘ghetto’ persona. Seriously?! in 2016, on a show that is broadcast on tv channels such as BET, someone can be thought as being "ghetto" and have that as a negative strike on their job review.
‘The research went on to say that most educated and working women found her to be ‘ghetto’ and that her aggressive eye-rolling, neck-rolling and the smacking of her mouth were indicative of ‘stereotypical behaviour that African American women have worked years to overcome,” reports Daily Mail.
Oh but there is more...

Furthermore, US media outlets are reporting that apparently the focus group research showed that most educated and working women did not identify with 'Tamar’s show vernacular and her use of words known to be popular among drag queens and some gay men – phrases like “get your life,” “where they do that at,” “have several seats.”

‘It was even said she seemed more suited to be a judge on RuPaul’s Drag Race on Logo instead of a talk show host on The Real,’ revealed the source to Mail Online.

To be fair it is also reported that Tamar was not a pleasant person to work with, so the combination of the show’s focus group findings, her on-set insubordination and the fact that the sales team for the show had made it clear that advertisers did not want her in their segments — this due to alleged antics that happened on a segment sponsored by Pinterest, is what ultimately led Warner Bros. firing her from the show.

Still, the fact that in 2016 a woman can be fired and part of the reasons for that dismissal would include being 'ghetto' and too gay friendly, is unfathomable to me. I know the show is a product that is aimed at a specific market. Yeah maybe the women the show targets don't get the so-called gay lingo but isn't the whole point of panel talkshow BALANCE.

If Tamar was too ghetto and in-tune with the gays, the rest of the ladies on the panel would have balanced that out. Who knows if Tamar's insurbonition was brought on by the fact that she knew she was being marginalised because of how she talks and who she is.

And who are these "educated women" in these focus groups. Is this just a code name for white women? I love Oprah, but one of the few things I never really appreciated about her show was how watered down her blackness was on that talkshow. She really even mentioned her black heritage.

Wendy Williams has also assimilated to that 'don't be too black' schtick. As soon as Wendy got on TV, she literally changed and suddenly was gushing over people like Zac Efron. If you knew of Wendy Williams before The Wendy Williams Show, you can definitely spot the difference.

I work in entertainment so I fully understand the whole concept of appealing to your core demographic and I get that sometimes for one to succeed you have to play the game by its rules. Still, it does sting a bit that for us black people to get world wide acceptance we have to dilute our blackness for white people to be comfortable.

To me, this is that Piers Morgan bullshit about Lemonade when he said Beyoncè is getting too racial  —when all the woman is doing is celebrating her blackness. Why is it that whenever a black person is proudly black, he/she is seen as an anomaly?

As for the gay lingo thing, get with the freaken program. Gay community has influenced popular culture for decades. Of course these execs and their "educated women focus groups" are ok with gay culture influence as long as it is from the white side of gay.

This is stupid.
