Beyoncè and Jay Z Top Forbes' Highest Earning Couple List of 2016

According to Forbes, Beyoncé continues to live up to her regal status as the Queen of Slay. She and her husband Jay Z are this year’s highest-paid celebrity couple, raking in staggering $107.5 million, that's 1.5 Billion rands, over the past year.

The Lemonade songstress pulled in $54 million, which nabbed No. 34 spot on the upcoming Forbes Celebrity 100 list—the annual ranking of the world’s top-earning superstars, which will be released on Tuesday morning. Jay Z ranked behind her on that list, at No. 36 with a $53.5 million tally.

Beyonce's latest album Lemonade debuted at number one on the Billboard 200, selling 485,000 copies in its first week (653,000 with additional album-equivalent units). Subsequently, she broke the record she previously tied with DMX, by becoming the first artist in the chart's history to have their first six studio albums debut at number one.

In the same week, Beyoncé became the first female to chart 12 or more songs on the US Billboard Hot 100 at the same time, with every song on the album debuting on the chart. She passed the previously held record of 11 by Taylor Swift's Speak Now album. Additionally, Lemonade was streamed 115 million times via Tidal, setting a record for the most-streamed album in a single week by a female artist in history.

This year she also launched her Ivy Park athleisure brand online and in-store at retailers worldwide. Just hours after the clothing went on sale, reports surfaced that various retailers’ websites crashed and items sold out.

Not forgetting that her on going Formation Tour that is currently doing its European leg is also bringing bucket loads of cash for the singer.

Beyoncé's cumulative gross Forbes earnings reach $628.5M, retaining her #1 spot as the highest earning female singer since tracking began.
